Taiwan Chamber of Commerce History
The Taiwan Chamber of Commerce of British Columbia (Referred to as TCCBC) was established on March 29, 1992. Originally named "Taiwan Entrepreneurs Association of British Columbia" until 2001 where it changed to its current name. TCCBC was registered in British Columbia on September 25, 1992 as a non-profit organization under the provincial social law. The Taiwan Junior Chamber of Commerce of British Columbia (Referred to as TJCCBC) is sponsored by the TCCBC.
TCCBC's purpose is collaborating between the Taiwanese business community, building bridges between mainstream business groups, and to strengthen the position of Taiwanese business in Canada. TCCBC will achieve this goal by facilitating the exchange of business information and cooperation, streamlining the demand and supply of goods and services worldwide, and promoting the reputation of Taiwan's business community.
The main activities of TCCBC include business forums, Christmas parties, New Year's greetings, and an annual Taiwan Business Night Conference to promote exchanges among members.
TCCBC is a member of the North American Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and the World Taiwan Chamber of Commerce , which includes more than 52 countries and covers nearly 100 urban areas. The members of these organizations are more than 30,000 business people.
TCCBC currently has more than 938 members.
As of February 25, 1995, the Chamber consists of four types of membership: corporate members, individual members, corporate sponsor members and individual sponsor members.
